If You Were Me and Lived in Ancient China: The Han Dynasty by Carole P. Roman
-April
This book is part of the Civilizations Throughout Time series. It's intention is to give children a lot of information so that later, when they hear something elsewhere, they're brain will make the connection that they've heard of it before. These books are meant for children ages 8-12. They work well as read alone or with an adult. They're packed full of information but still entertaining enough to enjoy.
This book, like the others, was really informative. It's about seventy pages, but it didn't seem as long as some of the others. The information doesn't feel heavy and weighted. It's presented in an interesting fashion. Reading it actually seemed to go by quickly.
I really enjoyed the illustrations because they're more like water colors. There aren't hard-defined lines, but rather blended together. The colors are soft instead of harsh and dramatic.
