If You Were Me and Lived in Brazil by Carole P. Roman

-April

This book is part of the Cultures Around the World series.  It's intention is to give younger children a look into other cultures.

I love this book because Carole wrote it!  I just love her stuff!

It's bright and colorful.  Most of the words are easy to say and you're not bogged down with too many facts.  Some of the pictures are a little dark.  They're not too long.  When they're talking about the carnival, it's a little wordy, but there's also a ton of information for that.  So even though it's a little longer than the other pages, it's full of interesting information so it won't drag young readers down and force them to lose interest.  Some of the pictures look like real pictures with cartoon characters drawn on top of them.  I love how different this is and that it gives it an extra dimension!

This book is an amazing and fun way to introduce young readers to life in Brazil.
